Compatriot Chuck Caldwell

It is my sad duty to inform everyone especially re-enactors & S.C.V. members that the South lost a great patriot & defender this evening. After battling cancer for the past several years Chuck Caldwell died of a sudden massive heart attack late today.

Chuck was born & raised in Franklin, Tn. He lived in the Duck Springs area near Attala, Al. in Etowah County where he passed away. Chuck was a combat veteran in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Chuck was the captain of the 10th & 48th Alabama Infantry Regiments during his reenacting days & was also a member of the S.C.V. His last request was to have a full Confederate funeral with troops present. So please pass this request to all reenacting companies & parent organizations.

Tomorrow I will have the full information on the specifics of his funeral arrangements & will get them to everyone. If you can help fulfill this compatriot's last request please let me know & I will forward your information to the respective parties. Most of all please keep his wife Glenna, his children & grandchildren in your prayers. God bless his family & God rest his soul.
