Pro-Southern

Mark,

Being pro-Southern is not synonymous with being pro-slavery. The Yankees did not "loose their hounds" upon our honourable ancestors to eliminate slavery. It was to continue the raping of the South for exorbitant taxes. Stating that 5% of the population owned slaves is not diminishing the wrongness of slavery.  The position is trying to be made that the rewriters of history have laid ALL the blame of slavery at our feet, which is absolutely wrong. The North had slaves too. Nobody, that I am aware of, approves of, or defends, slavery.  But the fact is that it was a way of life in that time period, and the British and New England Yankees are the ones who brought them here and sold them, both to Yankees and to Southerners.  I am a member of the SCV and feel it my duty, to my ancestors and my descendants, to pass along the true accounts of The War of Northern Aggression, which is what I have been doing for years now in the way of my True History CD.  I have given hundreds of them away, and hope to given thousands more away, in the effort to bring the truth to light, that truth which "those people" have buried and rewritten in order to indoctrinate generations of Americans with hogwash.

No sir, I can't see it being difficult to be a Christian and Pro-Southern at the same time. If my "pro-Southerness" offends anyone, they need only to read and learn the truth about our history from one of my CDs, or the many fine books in print that prove the Yankee myth is but a big lie.  I will not apologize to anyone for supporting my heritage and culture, nor for being a Christian and serving my God ,both of which are being attacked on all fronts.  The genocide of our culture seems to be fine with most people, yet they would scream bloody murder if it happened to anyone else. I do not sit still for it, but return fire with the undeniable truth. Slavery was not the issue of the war, but self-government and the rights protected by, and delineated, in the Constitution, which the North was violating.

Confederately yours,
Jeff Paulk
