Compatriots and Friends.
I am serving on a committee with the City of Hagerstown, Maryland, organizing which will be a joint rededication of the Washington Confederate Cemetery, GAR Memorial, and installation of a new memorial dedicated to the African-American GAR Post that was located in Hagerstown, MD. This event will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery here in Hagerstown this September. At the moment details are being worked out and I'm not at liberty to say more then that for now, but updates will be coming out as we get closer to the event.
Being the representative of Confederate Heritage on the committee, I've been asked to help with the raising of $250.00 which is the cost of the rededication stone for Washington Confederate Cemetery. If any of you would be interested in helping out with a donation, please contact me. It's not often that a local government sponsors an event in which all history is equally represented and $250.00 is not a lot of money. Please Help!
