MEDIA COVERAGE OF GEORGIA DIVISION'S
LICENSE PLATES THIS WEEK

This week has seen a huge media response to the press release that we issued at the first of the week regarding the new design of the Georgia Division's specialty license plate.  So far, more than 100 television stations, radio stations, magazines, and newspapers have carried our story, including FOX News, CNN, HLN, MSNBC, USA Today, and many others.

While the news media is covering the story for their own purposes and the SCLC is speaking out against our beautiful new plate for their own purposes, the coverage has done nothing for the SCV except to catapult our organization back into national attention... and hopefully will also increase the number of Georgians who will request our specialty plate this year.

We've had exceptionally positive response from the interviews we've done so far, including THIS ONE which was live on CNN at the 11am hour.

Today we taped a segment for HLN which is scheduled to broadcast on Saturday morning we're being told in both the 7:00am and 8:00am hours.  The HLN segment was even better for us than the CNN interview, largely due to the graciousness of the HLN host, Lynn Berry, who allowed more latitude for responses.

There is also a taping for MSNBC scheduled for Saturday, but we do not yet know when it will air.

Georgia Division member James King supplied us a link to the online poll at 11Alive television in Atlanta but, alas, after two days of those supporting the new plate receiving 80% of the vote, the poll (and its results) have disappeared from their website.

An image of the new SCV Special License Plate may be found online at www.GeorgiaSCV.org; and, again, the plates are available to all Georgians regardless of whether they are members of the SCV or not. Georgians must request the specialty plate at the time that they renew their tag each year at their local county tag office.
