Va Flaggers VMFA Update 5-2-2013

The Virginia Flaggers wrapped up our 82nd week of Flagging the VMFA, this week.  We have had a presence on the Boulevard for a total of 178 Flaggings, involving hundreds of Flaggers, logging over 720 hours on the ground... forwarding the colors... changing hearts and minds... and protesting the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and their continual assault against Confederate Veterans and our heritage.

Thursday, April 25th, saw 8 Flaggers on the Boulevard.  Sunny and 66, it was a beautiful spring day!  Foot traffic around the museum has been slow.  It appears that the new exhibit has not been drawing many visitors.  Still, we had the opportunity to talk with folks, share our literature, and information about our history and heritage.

If only we had $1 for every request for a photo...  ;)

Saturday, April 27th was a bit busier than usual, as the Lee-Jackson Camp had a guest speaker at the Confederate War Memorial Chapel.  About 30 people attended the event, and we had the opportunity to speak to most of them as they entered or left and share information with them...

11 Flaggers were on the ground...and we want to give a special shoutout to Va Flaggers Sid and Sue Lester, who celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary by flagging with us!  God bless you two and best wishes for many, many more!

Thursday, May 2nd was another gorgeous afternoon, with sunny skies and 8 Flaggers in attendance.  Foot traffic was light, but honks of support and shouts of approval were heard throughout the evening, as we kicked off May in Richmond with a decidedly Confederate display.

Our next Flagging will be THIS Saturday, May 4th, Noon - 4:00 p.m.

That morning, the Virginia Division, SCV is sponsoring a ceremony commemorating the Sesquicentennial of the Lying in State of the body of General Thomas J. "Stonewall Jackson", at 10:30 a.m. in the Old House Chamber at the State Capitol.  The Virginia Flaggers will be attending and participating in the service.

We encourage all to attend, and then invite you to the Boulevard afterwards to join the Virginia Flaggers on the front lines of Heritage Defense.  All you need is a Confederate Flag... and a Confederate heart.  We will have seasoned Flaggers there to show you the ropes and answer any questions you may have.

RETURN the flags!
RESTORE the honor!

See you on the Boulevard!
