Subject: Major Fundraising Update
Most major fundraisers are a lot of work for a lot of people. We tried to find one that would allow for minimum work for most participants and maximum funds for the Historical Society. Thus the raffle. Guns are popular and draw a lot of interest. Today we are almost halfway to the 1,500 ticket goal we set for this fundraiser. That is a huge accomplishment for all of us since we started very late. We have only been selling tickets for about four weeks. We will sell tickets until they are all gone, even though the drawings start this Saturday. See attached flyer or go to

The money we raise with this major fundraiser will help us pay our bills, improve our service, update our equipment, and provide more historical programming and events. It will also allow us the time to progress in our archiving work and other ongoing projects.
We understand if you do not like guns or don't need or want a gun. In that case we would encourage you to consider buying a ticket as a donation to the Society. If you win, you can donate the gun back and we will re-draw for it at another time. It is also our understanding that if you do not win, you may take the money you spent as a tax deduction.
If you are a gun enthusiast, I am confident that you will find this a great opportunity to support your sport and possibly win one or more new guns in the process.
Thank you all for your continued support of the Cass County Historical Society and your participation in this fundraiser. I look forward to seeing many of you at Saturday night's annual Legacy event, which will include a review of the past year, an awards presentation and of course, the drawing for our first gun winner.
Best regards,
