Inaugural Message

In this complex digital age of social networking and video games, we find ourselves more and more attached to others via computers and cell phones.  We so are content with our daily activities that we tend to ignore the past events and people who have shaped the very history that allows us to have these comforts we depend on every single day.  At some point we all need to unplug and have experiences outside the comfort of the video screens.

John T Hughes Camp #614 of  the Sons of Confederate Veterans offers experiences outside the digital arena for those of us who wish to preserve historical events from past.  One hundred fifty years ago our ancestors were participants of an event popularly known as the "American Civil War" that changed the course of events on the North American Continent.  The SCV is a group of direct heirs serving in a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to insuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved.

During the next four years the John T Hughes Camp #614 will be involved in many events around the area, which will depict the historical events from the past.  For more information about up coming events please visit our website: hughescamp.org or contact us via email at: scv614mo@hughescamp.org
